Choupinette is a quaint French café along Bukit Timah Road. They've been around for a long time! The café is tiny and has rustic homey decor but gives off a cozy vibe. They not only sell main dishes but sell bread and cakes as well.
I remember I used to visit them often before class or on weekends as they are near my school.
Back then, I tried their egg royals set. Their egg benedicts are poached perfectly and the toast at the bottom is crispy but not overly hard to chew. The only problem is their salmon is too thin! It's not salty though!
Their set menu consists of one main dish, one juice choice, and coffee or tea. Wish they would be more generous with their salmon servings and it would be nicer if I can replace one drink choice with a desert. A nice cake would be a good compliment to the awesome egg Benedict.
I remembered that they had excellent egg benedict, so I got their Eggs' Royale as well as their duck confit.
Unfortunately, their eggs were not runny at all, however, they were generous with their hollandaise sauce. The smoked salmon was also not extremely salty.
The duck confit was well-cooked with the duck meat perfectly tender and just melts in the mouth.
We ordered their set so it comes with their soup of the day which is the mushroom soup. The soup only filled half the bowl... and also 2 cups of latte.
