Bearded Bella
Bearded Bella is influenced by the Melbourne Cafe culture and is opened early 2018 along Craig Road. With an alfresco courtyard and an indoor seating area that is quite squeezy, the cafe is packed full of people on my 2 visitations. The translucent roof reminds me of Baristart but cozier with pink cushions lining against the wall at the table seatings.
During my 2 visits, I have tried the matcha cake, strawberry shortcake 2 times, tiramisu cake and a cup of coffee. Don't you agree that desserts are best paired with a good cup of coffee? The coffee at Bearded Bella is brewed using their in-house roasted beans which is smooth and nice.
Matcha cake
Loved the matcha cake as its moist with distinct matcha notes with cream cheese sandwiched between the layers and azuki between the layers of sponge cake.
Strawberry shortcake
Fluffy strawberry sponge cake encasing cream and strawberry chunks. I like the sponge cake to cream ratio here. The perfect cake to pair with a cup of coffee there. 🍰🍰🍰🍰
Tiramisu
2 layers of sponge cake with a layer of mascarpone and custard filling that are soft and rich. Tiramisu is finished with a dusting of rich cocoa powder with nuts and berries as garnishing.
