REVIEW: TROPIQUE CAFE & RESTAURANT - WES ANDERSON-ESQUE CAFE IN JB MALAYSIA

Continuing where I left over yesterday about my cafe-hopping trip in JB Malaysia.
We also had lunch at Tropique Café & Restaurant which is located at the instagrammable spring labs. Housed in an inviting two-storey Wes Anderson-esque greenhouse, the newly- launched 120-seat restaurant in Johor Bahru features a charming French-inspired menu with a good selection of wine to pair; perfect for brunches, afternoon tea, romantic dates and glamorous celebrations.

It was so hot outside so we ordered this berries punch to quench our thirst! Very refreshing!

Aside from the drinks, we also ordered the Scallop pasta which was actually inspired by the laksa in Johor. Sorry.. never ate laksa at JB before so idk how it originally taste like. The al dente linguine is tossed in their special laksa sauce. Reminds me of the one i had in Spruce which was katong laksa inspired. There's also pan seared scallops, brulee egg, homemade sambal and fish cake chips. Overall, despite this being a creamy pasta dish, it was not too heavy so we loved this!

For desserts, we ordered the Madam Lim's brownie. It's dark chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream on top with house made granola and popcorn as sides. Fans of sweet treats will like this!
