REVIEW: The Bakery Chef at Bukit Merah Central

The Bakery Chef is a small cafe Tucked in a corner at Bukit Merah Central. They serve a variety of cakes and coffees there. They also provide free WIFI for customers. The staffs there are generally young or at least that's how they look. Heard about their Rainbow Cake for ages so I have been wanting to make a trip down to try but i have no time! (Damn, work!) Awesome food like that often go viral on social media. The cafe is generally quiet during weekday afternoons, it is good to bring a lap top there like me to do work!

Address: #01-3711, 161 Bukit Merah Central, Singapore 150161
Opening Hours: Mon - Thurs 10am –7pm
                       Fri - Sun 10am – 9pm

This is by far the best rainbow cake I have tried so far! The sponge is so soft and fluffy! And the colors are so pastel! It looks awesome on camera and taste good as well. I also like that the cream on top is not overly sweet.

Another different angle!

It is very hard to find a cafe that serves both good cakes and coffee! I will definitely be back to try out other food items available there when I am free!

REVIEW: Miam Miam - The French Cafe with a Japanese Twist!

This is another cafe that i wanted to try out! It is awfully similar to Hoshino coffee in terms of their menu. Both serves french Japanese food. I actually wanted to try their Lobster Bisque Pasta. :x This seems like the common denominator in all of the French Japanese restaurants at least in Singapore.

Address: #02-14 Bugis Junction, 200 Victoria Street, Singapore 188021
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 10:00pm (Mon-Fri)
                          11:30am – 10:00pm (Sat-Sun)

Here's a picture of their nicely designed menu. (:

Matcha Latte with gelato and iced matcha latte. Does not taste as good as the ones i had in Nana's green tea and hoshino coffee. This is too powdery for my liking.

My friend's baked rice. This smells really good! The aroma of the Japanese curry rushes into my nostrils and I love it. The taste is not too bad as well but then they can at least serve something better than broccoli, egg and sausage with rice.

Here's come awaited Lobster Bisque Pasta with grilled tiger prawn! I like the tiger prawn as it is nice, firm and succulent with every bite. The Lobster Bisque here is slightly better tasting than Hoshino Coffee but their Linguine was a little too hard. I love my pasta al dente and this was not the case here. The pasta does look good on camera!

REVIEW: Bunny and Pony at Changi Village

It is a quiet Thursday afternoon. I went to Bunny and Pony after dining at Chock Full of Beans. The cafe is spacious and stylish but awfully empty and quiet! There was only one other lady there when i entered! Nonetheless, I settled myself down and ordered a waffle! I already knew what i wanted to order so i ordered the waffle with the gula melaka ice cream and also a hot cup of cafe latte.

Address: Blk 1 Changi Village Road #01-2000, Singapore 500001
Opening Hours: 12pm – 9pm (Tues-Thurs)
                       12pm – 10pm (Fri-Sun)
    Closed Mon

It's cute that they even have little wooden ponies inside to match the theme! LOL

Here's my latte! Firstly that is not a coffee art of a moon. XD  Idk what is that but it is not flattering at all.

Luckily the waffle was alright! As you can see its super crispy on the outside, and the inside was alright! It reminds me of the one i had at The little prince creamery. It was extremely difficult to take a picture because without adjusting the brightness the picture just looks like one black piece of cake. :x Anyhow the waffle taste even better with gula melaka ice cream. (: I just have a thing for flavors like this and salted caramel. (:

REVIEW: Chock Full Of Beans at Changi Village

Coming to CHOCK FULL OF BEANS has always been on my to do list! Always wanted to try their drinks with 3D Coffee art. Looks so cute on pictures! So I traveled for more than an hour by bus to get there! Disappointed that I can't try their eggs Atlantic because that's only available on Friday. They have different menus on certain days. Coming on a Thursday seems like a bad choice. :( I think i will come back again.

Address: BLK 4 CHANGI VILLAGE ROAD #01-2090, SINGAPORE 500004
Opening Hours: Tuesday – Friday       11:00  to 22:00 ( Set Lunch serve from 11:00 to 15:00)
                    Saturday – Sunday      9:00  to 22:00 ( Brunch serve from 9:00 to 17:30)

It is okay though. I had this Linguine pesto with chicken instead. Linguine is al dente and I kind of like Pesto sauce. This one is nice because there's a subtle sweetness to it but the chicken is kind of over-cooked and is not tender at all.

Iced hazel nut latte with the cute kitty 3D art! So adorable!! I had to snap a few pictures of this! LOL oh ya the staff told me i must wait 30 minutes for this! Thought it would be a long wait but they took less than that to serve me this drink. (:

Submerging into the cup.

 Totally flattened!

REVIEW: Kim Keat Hokkien Mee at Toa Payoh

The owner of this store is just a genius! This claypot concoction is so good! I guess it is different when you eat from the plate than from the claypot because there's alot of "zhup" here and it is served boiling hot to you. Air bubbles from below picture is prove. Noodles are wet, moist and flavorful! Roast pork is served cripsy and roasted to perfection. Added bonus here are the clams. I feel that the prawns used could be better and fresher though. Brought the mother to eat with me but she did not like it. :(  Wanted to share with her since it is priced at $10 for 2 person.

Address: Toa Payoh Lor 4, Blk 92 #01-264, 310092 (Nearest MRT Station: Braddell)
Opening Hours: 11:15AM to 10:00PM

REVIEW: Hoshino Coffee at Plaza Singapura

Met a friend that i hadn't met for a very long time. Was tasked to find the perfect spot for out planned dinner outing. You know how social media is going viral!! Saw pictures of people eating the pasta shown below. I had to be there to try that out! So this seems like a nice place to have dinner as well as to try out new dishes!

Address: #03-84, Plaza Singapura, 68 Orchard Road
Opening Hours: 11:30am – 10:00pm

Hoshino coffee originates from Japan. It is sister company to Doutor coffee who has an outlet in MBFC. I think it is safe to try out their Matcha drinks since it is a 'Japan' cafe. The matcha drinks are not powdery like those in Starbucks. Soft serve is nice and creamy. The standard here is definitely on par with Nana's green tea who is coincidentally just near by. lol

Lobster Bisque soup Pasta is awesomely al-dente and the portion is suitably fulfilling for a price of $16. There are chunks of tomato bits, mushroom and prawns on top. The dish is basking in the goodness of the lobster bisque soup which is quite deliciously thick and flavorful. Really does not disappoint.

REVIEW: 49 Seats at Orchard Central

I have been reading and seeing 49 seats all over social media for quite some time! Everyone is raving about pasta and their pasta are in the affordable price range! Their most expensive pasta is only $14.90! This is especially good for my friend as it is not expensive.

Address: #08-08, Orchard Central, 181 Orchard Road
Opening Hours: Mon - Fri: 11:30 - 14:30
                             Mon - Fri: 17:30 - 22:00
                             Sat - Sun: 11:00 - 22:00

As you can see, they featured their tom yum seafood pasta as their must try and the picture of the dish is so gigantic. It covers almost 1/4 of the page. lolol

Succulent prawns with clams mixed dipped in super duper creamy and SPICY sauce with al dente pasta. They are not kidding when they added the fiery chili beside the name of the dish in the menu. Although it is very spicy, it did not deter me but encourages me to finish everything up! Really gives the whole dish the extra kick!

Also bonus pic of my salted caramel latte from costa coffee after my dinner! :p
